Over 400 “impaired” drivers – users of alcohol, drugs and more – have been removed from the streets of Garden Grove in 2023.
That’s the report of the Garden Grove Police Department. So far this year – with just a few days to go – the GGPD has increased DUI arrests by 35 percent over 2022.
Over half of the arrests have been made by the GGPD’s eight-officer traffic unit. Earlier this year the city was awarded two state grants totaling $625,000 for traffic education and enforcement, providing for more officers to focus on traffic safety.
More officers will be working this New Year’s weekend on the lookout for impaired drivers.
