A 17-year-old student at a school in Perry, Iowa fatally shot another student, wounded five others before killing himself on Thursday.

According to school officials, the shooter was Dylan Butler. The student fatally shot by him was identified only as a sixth-grader. One of those wounded was Perry High Principal Dan Marburger.

Butler is believed to have been acting alone and no motive has been revealed although some have suggested that he was a quiet boy who was frequently the target of bullying by other students.

Perry, a city of about 8,000 people, is nearly 40 miles northwest of Des Moines, the state capital. The middle school and high school are on the same campus and are joined by a corridor.

Terrorist leader killed by drone

A drone strike conducted by U.S. forces in Baghdad, Iraq killed the leader of a terrorist organization on Thursday.

Abu Taqwa was leader of what was described as an “Iranian proxy group. “This individual was actively involved in planning and carrying out attacks against American personnel,” said Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder.

The Iraqi government complained about the attack, terming it “a violation of that nation’s sovereignty and security.”
