The boys basketball race in the Garden Grove League remains close, even after Los Amigos’ 57-52 overtime win over Santiago Friday night.
But some clarity may be coming to the girls’ side of the GGL season. Loara cruised past Rancho Alamitos 65-22 to win the Saxons’ fifth straight game and improve to 5-0 in league and 13-8 overall.
Earlier in the season, Pacifica High had impressive records in pre-league play, but both the boys and girls team are finding it rough in the tough Empire League.
The boys lost 66-50 on Friday to Cypress and slipped to 2-3 in league and 15-8 overall. The girls lost 43-22 to Cypress and are 2-3 in league and 17-6 overall.
