Nikki Haley has lost every primary and caucus to former president Donald Trump, but she’s not willing to say she will endorse him if he is the eventual Republican presidential nominee.
Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday program, she declined to say if she would drop out of the race, saying “I want the American people to see that you don’t have to live this way.”
On Saturday Trump won caucuses in Idaho and Missouri and won all the delegates at a convention in Michigan.
Decision on Trump eligibility Monday?
A decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on former president Donald Trump’s eligibility on the primary ballot in Colorado could come on Monday. An announcement from the court on Sunday simply stated that a decision would be posted online starting at 10 a.m.
At issue is a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that Trump was ineligible under the 14th Amendment barring those who had engaged in insurrection from holding public office, referring to Trump’s actions related to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
It’s not directly connected to the issue of whether a president is immune from prosecution for acts committed while in office.
