POLICE examine evidence seized in traffic stop in Westminster (WPD image).

Here’s some pretty sound advice.

If you are a wanted criminal suspect hoping to avoid arrest, don’t advertise your presence to the police.

Last Thursday at around 11 p.m.,Westminster CAGE (Criminal Apprehension and Gang Enforcement) detectives, along with an Orange County probation officer, were conducting “proactive enforcement” in the area of Newland Street and Hazard Avenue.

They spotted a new Porsche Taycan sports car leaving a suspected “slaphouse” (gambling location) and noticed vehicle equipment violations and saw the Porsche run a stop sign.

The vehicle was pulled over and two occupants each had outstanding felony arrest warrants.

During a search of the vehicle, a 9mm handgun was found, along with 16.4 grams of methamphetamine. The vehicle was not registered to either of the occupants and they were taken into custody.
