It was only a few years ago – 2019 – that Marina High’s football team won its first CIF-SS title. The way the Vikings have started their 2024 season – with four wins in a row –history could be about to repeat itself.

Garrett Hunnicutt passed for 272 yards and two touchdowns at Westminster High’s Bill Boswell Stadium Thursday night for a 31-7 non-league victory over Pacifica (1-3).

Shane Cassidy caught two touchdown passes and grabbed an interception and the Vikes benefitted from three Mariner turnovers.

For Pacifica, Ethan McLaughlin passed for 143 yards and one score. Miguel Campos rushed for 79 yards. Marina is the Tribune’s fourth-rated team in our High Five ranking of West Orange County prep football teams.

In other Thursday football results, Katella defeated Magnolia 33-6 and Gahr defeated Garden Grove 14-12.
