The Los Angeles Dodgers – facing the team that trails them by three games in the National League West fell behind 4-1 early Tuesday night and rallied in the bottom of the ninth to score one run with three singles.
The Los Angeles Angels are about to make history … and not in a good way.
After a 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox in the Windy City Tuesday night, the Halos are 63-94 with five games remaining to play. The team’s winning percentage is .401, and unless the team wins at least four of those games, they’ll finish with the worst full-season record in team history.
The old record was set in 1980, when they lost 95 games and posted a .406 won-lost percentage
The defeat was in classic Angel-style. A scoreless game turned into a 2-0 lead after seven and a half runs. But in the bottom of the eighth, the Chisox – on their way to having the worst record in Major League Baseball history – rallied with three runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Andrew Benintendi singled in the winning run with two outs.
