It’s Week 10 of the local high school regular season, which – coincidently It’s Week 10 of local high school regular season, which – coincidently – is also Halloween week.

For some programs with injuries and bad luck, it might seem to have been a scary fall.

On the other hand, for some it’s the game that will lock up a league championship and/or a trip to the CIF-SS playoffs starting next week.

Our final High Five  may look familiar: based mostly on MaxPrep ratings (strength of schedule as well as outcomes) Edison has been on top all season long.

Following are Huntington Beach and then Marina, Los Amigos and Pacifica. Rancho Alamitos and Orange High are on the bubble.

As you might expect, the final week of these schedules set up some title face-offs. On Thursday, Pacifica and Portola square off for the Omicron League title at Bolsa Stadium. Both teams are 4-0 in league.

In the Sigma League, Los Amigos has already clinched at least a tie for the crown and can claim all of it with a win Friday against Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana.

Marina lost its unbeaten status after a loss to Kennedy in the Lambda League, but a win Friday over Beckman – along with a Sunny Hills upset of Kennedy – would make create a three-way tie for the championship.

Here’s this week’s menu of games. As always, details are subject to change. All games are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
