The man who drove a car into a crowd of revelers in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve acted alone, according to the FBI.

The Associated Press is reporting that the driver of the truck – identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen from Texas – was termed “100% inspired” by the Islamic State, considered a terrorist group by the agency.

He was killed in a shootout with police
.
Jabbar had posted five videos on his Facebook account before the attack stating his support for Islamic State.

Fourteen people were killed in the crash; Jabbar was the 15th fatality of the night. Thirty people were injured.

There was “no indication” of any connection between the New Orleans incident and an explosion Wednesday of a truck filled with explosives outside a Las Vegas hotel owned by President-elect Donald Trump.

The truck driver shot himself in the head just before the bomb ignited, says AP.

Sports: Now we know the final four

The national championship game will be played on Monday, Jan. 20 in Atlanta.

The Sugar Bowl game was postponed by one day because of terror attack in New Orleans that killed 15 people.
