If you’re a follower of often-contentious meetings of the Westminster City Council, there may soon be fewer of these sessions to enjoy … or deplore.
At its meeting on Wednesday the council will consider cancelling seven meetings currently on the schedule for 2025.
On the chopping block are the meetings of April 23, May 28, July 9 and 23, Oct. 8., Nov. 26 and Dec. 24.
Also on the agenda is the introduction and first reading of an ordinance terminating the city Commission on Aging.
The stated reason for the end of the panel is a lack of interest from residents wishing to serve on the panel. The city Parks and Recreation will assume the responsibility for serving elders in the community.
The council will meet in its chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd. with a closed session at 4 p.m. and an open session at 6 p.m.
