A public hearing on a proposed increase in fees paid to the city for a variety of services greets the Stanton City Council when it meets on Tuesday night.

The increases are based on the cost of living, placed at 3.4 percent as calculated in the federal consumer price index. The new rates go into effect on July 1, 2025.

Also on the agenda are:
• approval of an ordinance restricting the sale of nitrous oxide and inhalants – except for medical purposes – in the city;
• a “social host ordinance” placing legal liability on the owner of property where illegal fireworks are discharged.
• Areport on the result of a goal- and priority-setting workshop with councilmembers, five updated strategic goals will be discussed.

The council will meet in special closed session at 5:30 p.m. and joint regular session at 6:30 p.m. in the Stanton City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave., west of Beach Boulevard.
