A collision between a motorcycle and a van Sunday morning in Garden Grove resultedin the death of the rider and arrest of the automobile driver.
According to Sgt. Charles Starnes of the GGPD, the incident took place in the 9100 block of Garden Grove Boulevard, east of Magnolia Street.
The collision was between a blue 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and a gold 2001 Honda Odyssey.
Police received reports of the accident around 9:42 a.m. and responded to the scene, finding the motorcyclist “unresponsive.”
Orange County Fire Authority personnel assessed his injuries – he was identified only as a 34-year-old Long Beach resident – and pronounced him dead.
Alcohol and/or drugs are considered to be a factor in the collision and the van diver – identified only as a 28-year-old Garden Grove resident – was arrested.
