A traffic stop on a motorcyclist for a vehicle code violation led to his arrest in Westminster last Thursday.
According to police records, the incident took place at 11:41 p.m. in the area of Magnolia Street and Hazard Avenue when WPD officers spotted a motorcycle being ridden without a license plate.
The traffic stop revealed that the cyclist didn’t have a valid motorcycle license. During the investigation officers found a crossbody bag on the rider and a search of it revealed a half-pound of methamphetamine and 40 grams of dimethyltryptamine.
The rider – identified as James Wayne Taylor, 53, of Orange – was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on drug sales-related charges and the motorcycle was ridden away by a legal rider.
