Halo hitting better than pitching

The 2026 Los Angeles Angels can hit. That’s the good news from the first four games of the season. The bad news – so far – is that they’re having some trouble keeping the other team from scoring, too.

After winning two games in Houston, the Halos lost two. including a 9-7 defeat on Sunday to settle their record at 2-2.

On Saturday, the Angels blew a seven-run lead and lost 11-9. On Sunday, they led 6-4 after four innings, but were outscored 5-1 the rest of the way to see the home team split the four-game series.

On Sunday, Zach Neto, the leadoff hitter, hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning. He also walked three times. Jo Adell was 2-for-4 and drove in one run. Mike Trout was 1-for 4 with one walk.

The Angel starter Jack Kochanowicz worked four innings, yielding four hits and five earned runs. He walked five batters and struck out three.

Next up for the Orange County team is a trip to Chicago on Monday to face the Cubs in a three-game series. The team’s home opener is Friday, April 3 against the Seattle Mariners.

The Los Angeles Dodgers (3-0) had Sunday off and will be back in action on Monday hosting the Cleveland Guardians (2-2) in an interleague matchup.
