A three-car collision Tuesday morning took the life of a person in Westminster.

According to Commander William Drinnin of the WPD, the incident took place in the area of Newland Street and McFadden Avenue. Police were notified of the incident at about 7:35 a.m.

The occupants of two of the vehicles were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Shortly after, the driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.

All involved parties cooperated with responding officers, according to Commander Drinnin. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The WPD Traffic Division conducted an investigation and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs doesn’t appear to be a factor.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Investigator Lin at (714) 898-3315, extension 3758.
