A foot chase didn’t end well for a man fleeing from Westminster police.

On April 28, WPD officers made a traffic stop for multiple violations in the area of Magnolia Street and Bolsa Avenue.

While the officer was getting the vehicle occupants’ information, the driver took off on foot. The officer gave pursuit and more officers were summoned.

The driver sought to escape by running, ducking and hiding in a trash can, but was eventually found and arrested.

He was discovered to have outstanding felony warrants and was on county probation. The driver was booked at Orange County Jail for his felony warrants and felony-related drug charges.

The vehicle was released at the scene to the licensed passenger.
