Playing their regional rivals in the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim has provided quite the boost, as the Blue Crew swept the series from the Halos and kept them in first place in the National League West.
The Los Angeles Dodgers (29-18) defeated the Angels in three games, the third and final game by the score of 10-1. It was their fifth win in a row and kept them a half-game in the lead over the San Diego Padres (28-18), who have won three straight.
As for the Orange County team, it was their sixth consecutive defeat, dropping them to 16-31 and keeping them last in the American League West and -– sigh! – worst in all of Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers outhit the Angels 11-5. Roki Sasaski (2-3) starred for the winners, striking out eight Angels in seven innings. He yielded four hits and one earned run while walking no one.
At bat, Shohei Ohtani batted 3-for 5 with two RBIs and Kyle Tucker was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. For the home team, Nolan Schanuel was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
On Monday the Angels will start a series with the Athletics in Anaheim, with the Dodgers facing the Padres in San Diego in a battle for first in the NLW.
