The Rancho Alamitos High baseball team has advanced to the championship game of the CIF-SS Division 8 after defeating Oxford Academy of Cypress on Tuesday by the score of 3-0.
Now 15-11, the Vaqueros will face Schurr High of Montebello (15-16) in the finals on Friday or Saturday.
The Spartans advanced to the title game with a 4-2 win over the Duarte Falcons.
Henry Garcia pitched a one-hit shutout for the green-and-gold. He also struck out seven batters, walked one and hit another.
Rancho will now vie for the school’s first CIF-SS baseball crown.
