Council has a busy session

A wide variety of topics will go before the Westminster City Council when it convenes tonight (Wednesday).

The council will consider:

• a request to create an ad hoc committee for the 2027 Tet Parade and provide direction regarding appointment of committee members;

• adoption of a resolution to recognize and celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America;

• second reading and adoption of amended speed limits within the city;

• approving a special event permit application from the Vietnamese Community of Southern California to hold a “Remembering Saigon” event on Sunday, July 5 at Sid Goldstein Freedom Park.

The council will meet at 3:30 p.m. in a closed session, followed by a study session at 4:30 p.m. on the proposed fiscal year city budget.

The open session will commence at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
