A SUSPECT sought to evade arrest by hiding in a tree, in Garden Grove police say (Shutterstock).
Yes, that’s right. On July 2, Santa Ana police officers and agents of the Orange County Probation Department did a probation compliance check on a probationer living at the La Casa Motel at 8822 Garden Grove Blvd. near Magnolia St. in Garden Grove.
According to the SAPD, the probationer jumped over a wall behind the motel and attempted to hide.
With the help of the GGPD, the suspect was found “hiding in a tree” and taken into custody.
Officers found cocaine, methamphetamine and a gambling machine inside his motel room. Arrested were Duoc Nguyen, 59, of Garden Grove and a second probationer.
They were both booked into Orange County Jail.
