A 21-year-old Westminster man has succumbed to injuries he suffered last week when the e-bike he was riding went out of control on a street in Huntington Beach.
According to Public Affairs Officer Jessica Cuchilla, the single vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday, July 21 at around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Plaza Lane.
Arriving police found the rider unconscious on the roadway next to the street. Paramedics were called to the scene and the cyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment. On Sunday he died from his injuries. It’s unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the e-bike was moving westbound on Warner west of Plaza when the rider lost control and “went down.”
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to it is asked to contact HBPD Traffic Investigator Vishal Rattanchandani at (714) 536-5231.
