A second reading and adoption of an ordinance that would clear the way for the construction of a 26-unit condominium project goes before the Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday.
The project would be built on a 1.8-acre parcel located on the southeast corner of Russell Avenue and Kerry Street and would require a change in zoning from single-family to multiple residential and planned unit development.
Also on the agenda will be an agreement with Chipman Relocation & Logistics of $80,000 for moving services associated with the relocation of the police department to its new facility at Euclid Street and Acacia Parkway. The move will take place over “multiple weekends.”
Also, personnel from Orange County Fire Authority from Fire Station 81 will be moved to accommodate hazard materials abatement and demolition of the existing GGPD building. That is estimated to take four to six months.
The agreement calls for returning the OCFA personnel and equipment to Station 81 once the facility is ready for occupancy.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
