Angels win, Dodgers walk off

The Los Angeles Angels are about as far away from a pennant race as can be, but they can still have a hand in the chase.

On Tuesday night the Halos defeated the Texas Rangers 3-2 in Anaheim, a victory that kept the visitors from rising into first place in the American League West.

A third-inning outburst was enough for the win. Trailing 1-0, the Angels got a run-scoring single from Zach Neto, followed by a sacrifice fly from Nolan Schanuel that drove in another run. Vaughn Grissom’s double gave the team a 3-1 lead.

The Angels got strong pitching started by Ryan Johnson, who went 4.1 innings, yielding three hits and one run. He struck out five batters and walked two.
The Angels are 46-74, still in fifth place in the ALW. The Rangers are 60-60, a half-game out of first.

Dodgers win it in 10 on Muncy’s walk-off
Max Muncy’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night at Chavez Ravine.

The Blue Crew built a 3-1 lead until KC scored three runs in the eighth to take a 4-3 edge. Mookie Betts tied it up with an RBI single with two out in the bottom of the eighth.

In the 10th, Muncy’s sharp single to center field brought home Shohei Ohtani with the winning run.

Betts had the best night, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs driven in.

Blake Snell had a strong start, going six innings and giving up just three hits and one earned run. He struck out 10 batters and walked just one.

The Dodgers are 72-48 and still in first in the National League West with an 8.5-game lead.
