Matthew S. West, the current assistant city manager of Garden Grove, is expected to be appointed city manager by the city council when it meets on Tuesday.
The agenda calls for the council to vote on an employment agreement calling for West to receive an annual salary of $363,756 with additional compensation for expenses and benefits.
West will take office on Nov. 3, the day after current city manager Lisa Kim retires from the post.
The initial term of employment is for three years, renewed “automatically” for two more two-year terms.
He began service with Garden Grove in January 2024. Previously he was city manager of Tustin from 2019-2023.
He worked in other posts – including assistant city manager – for Tustin from 2001 to 2019.
The council will meet in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave., at 6:30 p.m.
