The after-effects of the GKN Aerospace hazmat incident are still being revealed.
At tonight’s (Tuesday) meeting of the Stanton City Council, there will a public hearing on a proposed ordinance granting some financial relief to the owners of a large apartment complex in the city.
Stanton 2.0 LLC, operators of the 321-unit “Cloud House” building at 12331-12435 Beach Blvd, were under a special payment program for owed developer impact fees, but have requested a “temporary pause” of six months in payments because of the impact the evacuations caused by the incident.
An estimated 50,000 people – including an “evacuation zone” that included much of Stanton – were affected.
State law requires that landlords reimburse tenants for each day they did not have access to their apartments while under evacuation orders.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
