In an international game in Melbourne, Australia, the Los Angeles Rams were humbled by the San Francisco 49ers 27-7 before 100,000 spectators. After taking a brief 7-3 lead, the Rams were outscored 24-0 and opened the promising 2026 season with an 0-1 record.
For the Rams, Matthew Stafford completed 15 of 25 passes for 155 yards and no scores. Blake Corum ran for 54 yards on carries and Puka Nacua caught five passes for 74 yards.
The sole Ram score came at the beginning of the second quarter, a five-yard run by Kyren Williams giving the Los Angeles team a 7-3 lead.
Next up for the Rams will be a home game at SoFi Stadium on Monday, Sept. 21 hosting the New York Giants.
