The Bolsa Grande High School football team enhanced its playoff prospects and kept its Tango League
championship dreams alive with a 31-8 win over Magnolia High on Thursday.
With the win, the Matadors are 5-2 overall and 4-1 in league behind Loara (6-1, 5-0).
Magnolia (2-4, 1-3) dropped to a sixth-place tie in the nine-team league.
La Quinta was able to squeeze past district rival Santiago by the score of 15-14 in another Tango League game on Thursday.
The blue-and-gold trailed 14-0 at one point and rallied for two scores, capped by the two-point conversion that decided the game.
As a result, the Aztecs (4-2, 3-1) remain in third place in the league, with Santiago at 2-4 and 1-3, tied for sixth place with Magnolia and Godinez Fundamental.
