The “farewell” meeting of the Garden Grove City Council for retiring City Manager Lisa Kim will be on Tuesday.
Kim served 10 years in City Hall, for seven years as community development director and then three years as city manager.
She will be in the community spotlight, and her last day working for the city will be Nov. 2. Matt West, the current assistant city manager, will take over the top job.
Also on the agenda will be a request for an extension of operating hours and an exemption to the city noise ordinance for the Garden Amp in the Village Green park on New Year’s Eve.
Other requests come from King Shocks Technology for temporary street closures to host the 4th annual Christmas Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec.19 and for a two-day Buddha’s Birthday Festival at Garden Grove Park on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, 2027.
The proposed route for the Toy Drive would require street closures on Lampson Avenue between Knott Street and Monarch Street, on Edison Way between Lampson Avenue and Belgrave Avenue, on Industry Street between Lampson Avenue and Chapman Avenue, and on Belgrave Avenue between Industry Street and Knott Street. City streets will be closed from 2 a.m. until p.m.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
