A GUNMAN was killed by police after shooting several people – including a Congressman – at a baseball practice near Washington. D.C.
A 66-year-old Illinois man shot several people at a Republican Congressional baseball practice Wednesday morning, and was in turn killed by police. Authorities say that James T. Hodgkinson opened fire on the baseball field near the nation’s capital and
A total of five people were wounded, including one police officer.
The Associated Press is reporting that Hodgkinson had been a volunteer in the presidential election campaign of Bernie Sanders, who quickly condemned the attack. The gunman had a history of run-ins with the law, including drunk driving, battery and resisting arrest. He reportedly belonged to a Facebook group called “Terminate the Republican Party.”
The practice was being held to prepare for the annual game between Congressional Republicans and Democrats.
