Fourteen local high school sports teams received recognition this week in polls released Tuesday by the CIF-SS.
In football, here are the teams – by division – ranked or receiving votes for schools serving the communities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
- Division 3: Edison (received votes).
- Division 7: Huntington Beach (received votes).
- Division 8: Garden Grove (sixth).
- Division 10: Western (third), Orange (seventh).
- Division 11: Marina (sixth).
- Division 12: Ocean View (received votes).
For girls volleyball
- Divisions 1 and 2: Huntington Beach (10th).
- Division 7: Bolsa Grande (second), Garden Grove (third), Loara (seventh).
For cross country
- Boys Division 3: Rancho Alamitos (fifth).
- Boys Division 4: Ocean View (sixth).
- Girls Division 10: Ocean View (10th).
