
A SUSPECT was arrested for murder and assault in two separate incidents in Santa Ana (Shutterstock).
Additional witnesses are being sought in connection with a fatal stabbing and separate assault committed Sunday in Santa Ana.
Santa Ana police arrested a suspect on Monday, identified as Justin Anthony Carlin, 43, of Santa Ana.
According to the SAPD, the stabbing took place around 3 p.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald’s fast food restaurant at 3810 S. Bristol St.
Officers along with Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to the location and found an “unresponsive” 43-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. He was treated at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
His identity is being without pending notification of his next of kin.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that a woman had been assaulted by a man in the same shopping center as the McDonald’s. She reported having been punched several times in an unprovoked attack.
Officers detained the suspect near the crime scene. The man was arrested for murder and the separate assault and booked into Orange County Jail.
