Graffiti report to city council

Does it seem like there’s fewer spray-painted “tags” on walls and such in the city?

Ninety-two percent of reported graffiti “instances” in Garden Grove for the most recent month for which statistics are available were responded to within 24 hours.

That’s part of the update on graffiti abatement to be presented to the Garden Grove City Council when it meets on Tuesday.
That figure, for May 2025, was similar to April (90 percent) and March (92 percent).

Those and other facts and figures come from “enhanced service levels” through an amended contract with Graffiti Protective Coatings. Now three trucks are operating in Garden Grove, proving service seven days a week for removal of graffiti found in the public right-of-way and on private property.

The result is a 21.53 percent increase in graffiti removal, according to a staff report.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
