A 25-year-old North Dakota man was fatally injured Monday when his motorcycle was struck by a sport utility vehicle in Huntington Beach.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place around 3:30 p.m. at Talbert Avenue and Brookshire Lane.
The rider of a red Honda motorcycle was found unconscious in the roadway by arriving officers. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota Highlander, a 42-year-old woman from Bellflower, was uninjured and cooperated with investigators. Police say it doesn’t appear that impairment was a factor in the accident.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the Toyota was traveling southbound on Brookshire and then made a left turn onto Talbert. The motorcycle was westbound on Talbert and the two vehicles collided at the intersection with Brookshire.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or the events leading to it is asked to contact HBPD Traffic Investigator S. Flynn at (714) 536-5666.
