A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Westminster on Saturday night (Shutterstock).

A man walking in the area of Beach Boulevard and 21st Street in Westminster was fatally struck by a motor vehicle Saturday night .

According to Commander Andy Stowers of the APD, the incident was reported at around 9:05 p.m. Arriving officers found the man on the ground, barely breathing.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Impairment, such as alcohol or drugs, don’t appear to be a factor.

The crash resulted in the southbound lanes of Beach Boulevard at Trask Avenue being closed for about seven hours during the night.
