Apt. house for the homeless on the city council agenda

A first step toward assisting a private agency to buy and operate an apartment house in Stanton to “achieve sobriety and battle homelessness” goes before the Stanton City Council when it meets on Tuesday evening.

The council will consider a letter of support for Action Alliance for the proposed plan, funded through CalOptima’s Housing and Homeless Initiative Program.

Also on the agenda are:
• presentation of honors to Mayor Pro Tem Donald Torres;
• election of a mayor pro tem;
• participation in the 2026 City of Westminster Tet Parade, at a cost of $800.
consideration of a formal policy for naming or renaming city-owned parks and public facilities • “reflecting Stanton’s community values and prior council direction.”

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
