A FIRE on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Westminster on Wednesday injured three persons (OCFA photo.)

Three persons were injured in a traffic collision with fire on Wednesday in Westminster.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the incident took place on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway just south of Bolsa Avenue.

Fire engines for the OCFA were dispatched at around 5:27 p.m. to the scene.

Firefighter-paramedics simultaneously extinguished the vehicle fire and provided emergency medical care to the victims of the crash.

The three adult patients in various conditions were taken to area hospitals for further treatment, The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
