Motorcyclist is killed in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway

A MOTORCYCLIST was killed in a crash in Huntington Beach on Pacific Coast Highway (Shutterstock).

An investigation is continuing into a fatal traffic accident earlier his week in Huntington Beach.

According to the HBPD, police responded to a report of a traffic collision at around 1:11 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 11th Street between a grey Land Rover LR2 and a red Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Arriving officers found the rider of the Harley, a 21-year-old man from Pico Rivera, unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics were called to the scene and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of a Land Rover, a 62-year-old Huntington Beach man, was uninjured. He cooperated with investigators and it doesn’t appear that impairment was a factor in the crash.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Land Rover was traveling southbound on PCH and was making a left turn to travel northbound onto 11th Street . The motorcycle was traveling northbound on PCH and entered the intersection where the collision occurred.
