APD, GGPD team-up in arrest

ANAHEIM and Garden Grove police teamed-up to make an arrest (APD photo).

Garden Grove and Anaheim police combined to arrest a man accused of brandishing a rifle during an argument on Sunday.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, APD officers responded to the report and broadcast the suspect information.

Garden Grove police spotted the vehicle in the county area of Anaheim near Chapman Avenue and tried to make a traffic stop.

The suspect, police say, used his vehicle to attack a GGPD officer before he was overcome. APD personnel helped in scene management, traffic control and other sources including the use of its Terradyne armored vehicle.
Police deployed pepper balls and a K-9, resulting into the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect was linked to two burglaries in Anaheim, say investigators, as well as being a “person of interest” in a Garden Grove robbery. Stolen property was also recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
