A man walking in the area of Westminster Boulevard and Springdale Street in Westminster was fatally injured on Tuesday evening when struck by an automobile.
According to WPD Commander Andy Stowers, around 6:50 p.m. arriving officers found the pedestrian on the ground and “barely breathing.”
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Identification of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. Driving under the influence doesn’t appear to be a factor in the incident.
Because of the collision, one lane of Springdale was closed for about three hours and has since been reopened.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Officer Lin at (714) 548-3831 or the WPD watch commander at (714) 548-3767.
