A vehicle fire in an apartment building garage in Garden Grove on Stuart Drive was quickly extinguished on Monday afternoon.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority – which provides fire and paramedic service to Garden Grove – before firefighters arrived neighbors and Garden Grove police officers used fire extinguishers to slow the spread of the blaze.
OCFA crews arrived in four minutes to fight the fire that was threatening the apartments above. They were able to put the fire out in two minutes and all occupants were safely evacuated.
Firefighters note that the neighbors and police who initially contained the fire did so when the fire was still small, maintained a safe distance and made sure to have a clear exit.
The Stuart neighborhood is located south of Garden Grove Boulevard and east of Newhope Street.
