The Orange High Panthers and the Western High Pioneer girls’ basketball team have advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS playoffs.

Orange defeated Coachella Valley 44-40 on Saturday and will face Notre Dame on Wednesday (Feb. 18) in Division 8 play. Western prevailed 48-38 over Valley Christian on Saturday and will face Sierra Vista on Wednesday in D-9 action.

Garden Grove got knocked out in a Division 7 contest, losing 42-35 to Cajon.

In girls’ soccer on Saturday Ocean View bested Desert Hot Springs 3-2 in a Division 6 game.
