Pedestrian fatally struck by car

A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

A 58-year-old man from Orange was fatally injured on Sunday when he was hit by an automobile while walking on a street in Huntington Beach.

According to the HBPD, the incident took place in the area of Beach Boulevard and Williams Drive. Officers responded to a report of a collision there at around 6:30 p.m.

Arriving officers found the driver of a Toyota Camry, a 68-year-old Huntington Beach resident, uninjured. The pedestrian was unconscious in the roadway and was taken to a local hospital where he was declared deceased.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Toyota was traveling southbound on Beach and struck the pedestrian north of the intersection with Williams.
