The Huntington Beach Police Department will be stepping up patrols in selected locations in the city in response to “ongoing tensions in the Middle East.”
In a statement posted Wednesday on social media, the HBPD announced it is “closely monitoring the situation and maintaining a heightened awareness to ensure the continued safety of our community.”
Additional patrols will be conducted near places of worship, cultural centers and other community gathering places, according to HBPD.
The public is advised to “remain attentive and report any suspicious activity or potential hate-related incidents to law enforcement.”
