Trump: ‘Pay TSA employees’

An executive order to pay Transportation Security Administration employees was signed by President Donald Trump on Friday.

According to the Associated Press, TSA workers could began receiving their wages as early as Monday. A deadlock in Congress blocked payment for the federal employees who staff the nation’s airports, a development that could eventually lead to a shutdown in the air transportation system.

The Senate has been able to authorize pay for TSA because a proposed bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security didn’t include banning some of the controversial actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement staff and the Border Patrol, as required by Democrats.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said, “We are going to try something different.”

Wall Street continues to slump

Investors are losing confidence that the war in Iran – and its consequences – will end soon.

That’s what The New York Times is reporting as stocks continued to fall on Friday. The benchmark S&P 500 had its worst week of losses since the start of the conflict, its most severe losing streak since 2026 began.
That’s a drop of almost 9 percent from its record high.

Those declines in New York were mirrored in exchanges in London, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Much of these stock declines has been sparked by increases in the price of oil.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the benchmark price of a barrel of oil has risen from $72.48 in January to over $112 a barrel, although petroleum “futures” are selling at above $80 a barrel.

Woods arrested in rollover DUI crash

Tiger Woods, perhaps the greatest golfer of all time, was arrested and charged with drunk driving, according to United Press International.

His arrest came because of his role in a rollover auto collision in Jupiter Island in Florida, reports UPI.

He faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, say authorities. Two automobiles were involved with one person injured.

Woods was held in a Martin County Jail for four hours when he refused to submit to a urinalysis.

A breathalyzer test registered 0.000 blood alcohol content, but sheriff’s deputies said he “was acting impaired.”

The Land Rover driven by Woods is alleged to have been moving “at high speed” when it clipped another vehicle, causing the Land Rover to roll over.

“Woods then crawled out of the passenger side of the car,” said authorities.
