The collision of a motorcycle with a sedan automobile resulted in the death of a man in Huntington Beach on Sunday.
According to Public Information Officer Jessica Cuchilla, the incident took place before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 24th Street in the Sunset Beach area.
The vehicles involved were a white Toyota Camry and a blue BMW motorcycle. Officers responded to the incident around 3:56 p.m. and upon arrival found the rider of the BMW, a 28-year-old Cerritos man, unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics responded and he was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
There, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Camry, a 19-year-old woman from Long Beach, was not injured. She cooperated with investigators and impairment does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the Toyota was exiting a parking lot turning southbound on PCH and the BMW was traveling northbound on the highway where the collision occurred.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is asked to call HBPD Traffic Investigator C. Houlston at (714) 536-5670.

Making a left turn from Peters landing headed south has always been dicey, the traffic is moving faster than posted, lots of out of towners, there is 2 curves where a hidden vehicle can be coming too fast and you can pull out in front of them. I drive 400 ft north to the signal and use that almost always. I saw that afternoon the debris and knew someone had died. He probably was moving fast; she perhaps was coming out a bit timid and slow. I suggest banning a lefthand turn from the exit from Peter landing parking lot.
