The trial of a Garden Grove man accused of murdering a man in Stanton got under way Tuesday. According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Daniel Perez Munoz, 23, was in court to face a felony charge of murder in Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

Munoz is accused of the stabbing murder of Phuong “Bob” Huynh, 52, of Stanton with a knife on Jan. 11, 2014. Authorities say the victim was stabbed several times in the neck and chest.

Garden Grove police arrested Munoz about one hour after the incident. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison.
