SEVEN MORE candidates for local city councils and mayorships have emerged.

With a little over a week to go before the filing deadline, the list of people filing for local city council and mayoral posts has grown … a little. Seven more candidates take taken out nomination papers over the past week.

Those seeking to be on the ballot in the Nov. 8 election in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Westminster must complete their nomination papers and submit them to the city clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12.

Here’s a rundown by city. Candidates that are “new” since our last update are underlined.

GARDEN GROVE

For mayor

  • Albert Ayala, Steve Jones, Donald Taylor

For city council

District 2 (North)

  • John O’Neill

District 3 (Central West)

  • Dui Nguyen, Luong Nguyen, Clay Bock

District 5 (East-North)

District 6 (East-South)

  • Rickk Montoya, Kim Nguyen

HUNTINGTON BEACH

For city council (three seats)

  • Alexander Polsky, Jim Katapodis (inc.) Amory Hanson, Karen Leighton, Lyn Semeta, Patrick Brenden, Joe Carchio, Jill Hardy (inc.) David Sullivan (inc.), Aleksandr Donovan, Sophia Rangel, Hemesh Patel.

For city treasurer

WESTMINSTER

For mayor
