Approval of a new contract for classified workers calling for a 4.75 percent pay increase will be on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Huntington Beach Union High School District Board of Trustees.
The board will consider the three-year pact with workers represented by the California School Employees Association, Chapter 157. Classified staff is generally non-faculty workers such as bus drivers, food service workers, maintenance staff and others.
If approved, the pact will be retroactive from July 1, 2015 and run through 2018. The 4.75 increase will be dated back to that date, and a 0.5 percent increase retroactive to July 1, 2016 will be added, and then another 0.5 percent increase effective on July 1, 2017.
The board will also consider a similar wage adjustment for classified employees who are exempt from joining the union.
The HBUHSD board meets at 6 p.m. in the district office at 5832 Bolsa Ave., in Huntington Beach. The district serves Huntington Beach and portions of Fountain Valley, Westminster and Garden Grove.
