
A GARDEN GROVE man was convicted Tuesday of the stabbing murder of a stranger in Stanton (OC Tribune).
A 23-year-old Garden Grove man was convicted Tuesday in the stabbing murder of a Stanton man. According to the Orange County District Attorney, Perez Munoz was found guilty of felony murder in Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and now faces up to 26 years in prison,
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7 in Santa Ana.
Authorities say that at on Jan. 11, 2014, Munoz was drinking with friends in an apartment parking lot in Stanton, and then walked to a nearby business, confronted Phuong “Bob” Huynh, who was walking to a store. Munoz stabbed Huynh several times in the neck and chest, and the victim died at the scene.
One hour later, Garden Grove police arrested Munoz at his home.
