A two-run home run by Albert Pujols was all that Ricky Nolasco needed as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeated the Astros 2-0 in Houston Thursday night. Pujols’ blast, his 31st of the season, came in the first inning.
Nolasco (7-14) pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up just five hits. He struck out five batters and walked one. The win put the Angels (67-86) into fourth place in the American League West, one game ahead of the Oakland A’s.
